At Thomas Firbank Removals we don’t just move possessions from one house to the next – every removal we carry out is individually tailored to our client’s needs. We carry out full assessment of the job, providing a free quotation with no hidden costs.
We will pack every item before the move so that you don’t have to lift a finger. You can just stand back and watch as we do the hard work for you. All items and boxes will be carefully labelled, ensuring they end up in the correct room at your new home. We can also unpack you at your new home to help complete your relocation.

My mum used Thomas Fairbank for her move into a new flat. The teamwere friendly and cheerful and crucially really calm throughout. Everything was packed carefully and they were quiet, organized, respectful and professional as they went about their work. When we arrived at the new property, we found out the lift was broken. This could have been a disaster but Mike and James spent hours carrying everything upstairs and managed to stay cheerful throughout. We were so grateful that they made the move so stress-free. We had the pleasure of Dan and Bobby helping us move, who were both incredibly professional and efficient.They had absolutely everything thought out, e.g. carpet protector for our new home (as it was tipping down with rain all day), tape to tape down drawers as they were being moved, and just how to arrange everything within the van so that it would all fit. They were so careful with our furniture - even with a couple of old wardrobes from IKEA that we had accepted would break if we tried to move them (we were prepared to get rid of them if they did!), but lo and behold they are still standing beautifully in our new home!If we move house again, I would absolutely rebook with Firbank Removals. Mike, Brad & Lewis were an amazing crew to help with our move and worth every penny and then some!We had a pretty stressful build up to moving and when these arrived, all the stress just disappeared... they made everything so easy and we couldn't thank them enough for how relaxed they made us feel on what should've been a tough day. I had a hand injury at the time and they not only deconstructed our furniture at the old place and reconstructed it at the new place, they also made sure we didn't need to lift anything. It was a long day in appalling conditions - the temperature never rose above freezing - but Jason, Luke and Lewis were helpful and cheery. The service provided by the Master Removers Group was second to none.Thomas Firbank carried out the initial survey with a personal visit, and provided the quotation. It was by far the most comprehensive and professional of all we received. Not the cheapest, but the one that gave me greatest confidence.Our move out was complicated by the fact that we had a lot of stuff, including a multitude of pot plants, and a long curving driveway, which made access by a large vehicle impossible.The plan was based on spreading the move out over two and a half days, and one and a half days into the new house, with all packing and materials included in the price.The actual move was carried out by Johnson’s of Shaftesbury, another member of the Master Removers Group, as all of them work in partnership. Mark and his team carried out the job very efficiently, with great good humour and courtesy, using one medium sized van and three smaller ones.To complete a great experience, there was no pressure to return packing materials, unlike some others, and the company will make one return visit to collect everything I want to recycle with no time constraint.This was my tenth move in the last fifty years (hopefully the last), but by far the best in every respect.

We had several quotes for our move and I would’ve chose Thomas Firbank on that initial contact alone. Tom was professional, polite and open - he stated that they weren’t the cheapest, but in my view you get what you pay for. The team who did our pack and move were top notch, 3 of them made short work of our rather cluttered 3 bed. All the packaging was provided and breakables were packaged very well. Tom popped in to see how the move was going and have a chat. It’s good to see the company take a genuine interest I can’t recommend them highly enough and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

The only reason for not awarding 5 stars overall was that we needed to be vigilant to ensure that they took what we considered to be the necessary precautions to protect floor surfaces, although I acknowledge that we are fussy in this regard. We would consider using this company again if we move again although we hope the need will not arise.

If you have a particularly large or fragile item to move, we will make special arrangements (crates and cases) for its safe removal and delivery to your new property. Each item will be individually packed to ensure they are moved securely during the relocation process. There really is no item too big or too small, and our vehicles are fully equipped to move any item.
Our wide range of services
We are happy to provide additional services at no extra cost, such as the dismantling of furniture (beds and wardrobes) and even climbing frames and other garden equipment. There is no limit to what we are willing to do to ensure that all of your larger items are packed and removed safely.
We are able to provide a full range of packing materials including various sized boxes, tape and labels, and we can provide specialist equipment to move larger items, such as pianos or the dining room table.
