To pack or not to pack? That is very much the question facing anyone with an impending house-move on the horizon. When confronted by the sheer amount of stuff we’ve acquired over the years, the idea of going through it all, making an inventory, and then sorting it into logical groups before placing it in boxes, is simply too much. Our spirits sink at the very thought of such a task. It seems positively Herculean – and that’s putting it mildly. So do we shrug our shoulders and book a packing service (for example, Thomas Firbank Removals has a full packing/unpacking service) or do we straighten our spines, brace ourselves and start doing the job solo? It’s not always an easy decision. Some of us may have youth on our sides when it comes to the physical stamina required for packing up a house. Others may be incapable of bending or heavy lifting. Many of us may be up to the challenge physically, but also be pressed for time or simply not inclined to endure the mental strain.
